All youth need support as they move through adolescence to adulthood and face the complex challenges and expectations of adult life: establishing new relationships, setting educational or technical training goals, finding and maintaining work, building a career, and more.
Among the most vulnerable are youth facing transitions made particularly difficult by mental illness, emotional trauma, homelessness, as well as a number of other difficult situations which call for consistent and coordinated services and supports.
Through the Stairways Youth in Transition program, young men, between the ages of 18 - 23 who are transitioning from the adolescent mental health system into the adult community, receive life skills training and community-wide resource coordination in this residential support program.
