Mobile Medication Management

For persons diagnosed with a serious mental Illness, taking psychiatric medications can be confusing and frustrating. Many people stop taking their medications as prescribed, often leading to psychiatric hospitalizations and/or mental health crises. The goal of the program is for medications to be taken consistently, safely, as prescribed and ultimately independently. Each person is met at the level of care they require – from daily home visits to reminder phone calls. The program operates 7 days. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Staff assist people in the following areas:

  1. Packing a medication box, learning safe ways to store medication and proper medication disposal.
  2. Learning the name, purpose, dosage and side effects of each medication and how it relates to one's symptoms.
  3. Attaining skills to access pharmacies, to obtain refills from providers and to utilize services such as pharmacy delivery, automated refills, etc


To be eligible for Mobile Medication Management services, candidates must be an Erie County resident 18 years or older, diagnosed with a serious mental illness and having difficulty taking psychiatric medications as prescribed.
