Registered Nurse – (Outpatient Clinic) Erie, PA

This position is responsible for assessing client physical and mental health status, providing client education, assisting the psychiatrist in providing medical services to identified clients, administering intramuscular (IM) medications, and providing a nursing perspective to Outpatient treatment team professionals including nursing, therapy and psychiatric.  Additional duties include assisting clients with acquiring prescription medications, documenting client progress toward recovery and serving as a client liaison to the physician through effective management of client walk-ins, phone consultation and scheduled appointments.  Also responsible for conducting comprehensive nursing assessments as indicated.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current licensure as Registered Nurse by State of Pennsylvania; experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and/or forensic issues preferred

2. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a team.

3. Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system and recovery principles.

4. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and forensic issues and encourage their participation with comprehensive treatment plans.

5. Act 31/33/34 Clearances and FBI Criminal Background Check within one year.

6.  Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

Therapists - Masters Level - Erie, PA

This position is responsible for facilitating brief, individual and group behavioral therapy for individuals with mental illness and their families, as appropriate.  Therapists will demonstrate proficiency in utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including complementary medicine approaches, and will specialize in areas as determined through consultation with the Clinical Director.  Therapists will meet productivity and caseload management standards for both individual and group therapy as established by the co-directors. Therapists are also responsible for conducting thorough initial and ongoing assessments to identify each client’s need, to develop a client-centered treatment plan, and to identify and facilitate access to internal and external services that may further benefit each client. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Master’s level degree in psychology, counseling or a related field and a minimum of two years of supervised clinical work experience. 
  2. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system, treatment modalities, and recovery approaches.
  4. Computer literacy, specifically in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  5. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and develop comprehensive treatment plans for their program participation.
  6. Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.
  7. Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

 

Mental Health Professional (MHP)/Masters Level Therapist - Erie, PA

These positions function as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to clients enrolled in the Long Term Structured Residential (LTSR) program.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: individual and group therapy, case management, medication monitoring, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADL), crisis intervention, psychosocial education, vocational support and supportive counseling. The incumbent is expected to provide recovery-oriented interventions according to each client’s individual treatment plan and maintain professional relationships with other providers, both internal and external to the program. The incumbent will meet productivity and caseload management standards.   The MHP, along with every member of the LTSR team, must adhere to the DPW regulations and the policies and procedures established by the organization. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Master’s level degree or higher in generally recognized clinical discipline and one (1) year of mental health clinical experience.
  2. Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills & the ability to effectively work with a team of other mental health professionals. 
  3. Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of the mental health system, psychiatric rehabilitation principles and recovery-oriented practices.
  4. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and forensic issues and encourage their participation with comprehensive treatment plans.
  5. Act 31/33/34 clearances and FBI Criminal Background check.

Certified Nurse Aid - Erie, PA

This position is responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living to clients residing in a Personal Care Home.  In addition to assisting with instrumental activities of daily living, the incumbent is expected to focus on medical concerns and wellness, promote a home-like atmosphere and encourage positive social experiences and interactions with and between clients.  This position is primarily site-based.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  High School Diploma or GED. Experience with in the field preferred.

2.  Current CNA certification.

3.  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

4  Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and implement support / recovery plans for their program participation.

5.  Act 31/33/34 Clearances and FBI Criminal Background Check.

6.  Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours

 

Part Time Residential Aide (various openings) - Erie, PA

This position is responsible for enhancing the abilities of clients to lead self-determined lives by providing the necessary support and information for them to implement their rehabilitation / treatment plans in a collaborative and expeditious manner. The incumbent also assists clients with scheduled activities, medication monitoring, management of daily tasks, providing transportation when needed, group facilitation, intake information gathering and general collaboration with the Rehabilitation Coordinator, Nurse and other staff. Crisis management and support is also an important function of this position.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Effective communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills & ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities & implement rehabilitation / treatment / recovery plans for their program participation. Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check. Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
