Maintenance Technician

 This full time position is responsible for providing safe, comfortable and healthy environments for all consumers, visitors and staff in all Stairways owned or maintained facilities and vehicles.  Responsibilities include general maintenance and repair, relocation activities as needed, and working collaboratively with staff, administration, vendors and other community representatives to ensure high quality service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, GED or equivalent education and training and one year of full time experience as Maintenance Person 2 with the agency, which includes completion of all in-service training; OR, three years full time (or equivalent) paid relevant maintenance experience with another employer performing duties in at least five of the following areas: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical repair, Repair of household items, Moving and storage, Painting and wallpapering; OR, possesses a diploma, certificate or license from a certified trade school or vocational school in an area providing basic knowledge in at least five of the areas above; Working knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.  Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.  Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

 

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker

This full time position is responsible for providing psychiatric rehabilitation services (PRS) to clients in the life domains of living, wellness, learning, working, and socializing. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker will conduct initial and ongoing functional assessments, develop recovery-oriented rehabilitation plans with enrolled clients, and provide person-centered interventions according to each client’s plan. Clients include youth/ young adults who are transitioning to adult roles; adults may also be served. The incumbent will provide input to the team regarding the client’s progress, goal attainment and continued need for such services.  The goal is to help individuals develop the skills that will allow them to engage in the community, develop meaningful roles, and have lives that bring them joy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; OR Bachelors degree in a related field; or associates degree in related field with two years full-time (or equivalent) related experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 18 months full-time experience as Rehabilitation Technician One (Scale 1) within the agency; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of related full-time (or equivalent) experience from outside the agency; OR Bachelors degree in a related field and at last 12 months experience as full-time Rehab Tech One and/or Rehab Tech 2 within the agency; or associates degree with at least 3 years of full-time direct care experience within the agency; or high school diploma with at least 4 years experience as Rehab Tech 1 and/or Rehab Tech 2 within the agency; or bachelors degree in a related field with 18 months of full-time (or equivalent) experience from outside the agency; or associates degree in a related field with at least 30 months of related experience from outside the agency.  Effective communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills & ability to work with minimal supervision.  Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities & implement rehabilitation plans for their program participation.  Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.  Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.  Additional program specific minimum qualifications may apply.

 

Part-Time Mental Health Worker

The Mental Health Worker functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and is responsible for implementing rehabilitation and support interventions as outlined in the treatment plan for clients enrolled in the ACT program and under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, case management, medication monitoring, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADL), crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of the Team Leader and Psychiatrist, psychosocial education, vocational support and supportive counseling, and consultation with families. The incumbent is expected to provide recovery-oriented interventions according to each client’s individual treatment plan and maintain professional relationships with other providers, both internal and external to the program. The Mental Health Worker, along with every member of the ACT team, must adhere to the fidelity standards, DPW regulations, and the policies and procedures established by the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s level degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling or education; or, high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or other social science and 2 years experience in public or private human services with 1 year in direct client contact.  Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills & the ability to effectively work with a team of other mental health professionals.  Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of the mental health system, psychiatric rehabilitation principles and recovery-oriented practices.  Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and forensic issues and encourage their participation with comprehensive treatment plans.  Act 33/34/31 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.  Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

 

Part Time Aide (Residential)

These positions are responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living to clients residing in the Personal Care Home.  The incumbent is expected to promote a home-like atmosphere and encourage positive social experiences and interactions with and between clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; Effective communication skills; both written & verbal; organizational skills; knowledge of practical self-care skills & ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities & implement support / recovery plans for their program participation; Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check;  Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours. 

 

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

This position is responsible for assessing client physical and mental health status, providing client education, assisting the psychiatrist in providing medical services to identified clients, administering intramuscular (IM) medications, and providing a nursing perspective to Outpatient treatment team professionals including nursing, therapy and psychiatric. Additional duties include assisting clients with acquiring prescription medications, documenting client progress toward recovery and serving as a client liaison to the physician through effective management of client walk-ins, phone consultation and scheduled appointments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse by State of Pennsylvania experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorders preferred; Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a team; Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system and recovery principles; Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorders and encourage their participation with comprehensive treatment plans Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check; Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

 

Full-Time Mobile Medication Monitoring Worker

These positions are responsible for providing in-home mobile medication monitoring services to clients in need of skills training, symptom management, and resource coordination.  The incumbent is responsible for providing mental and physical healthcare education and coordination of medication and related healthcare services; developing and implementing recovery-oriented medication management plans that are comprehensive, accurate and clearly tailored to each client’s individual needs; and, conducting ongoing assessments to ensure that goal plans remain relevant, that progress, or the lack thereof, is closely monitored and that modifications can be made as deemed appropriate. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Rehab Tech 1 – High school diploma or equivalent; Rehab Tech 2 - Bachelors degree in mental health related area; OR, associate’s degree in a related field with 2 years full time (or equivalent) related experience; OR, high school diploma (or equivalent) with 18 months full time experience as Rehab Tech 1 within the agency; OR, high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of related full time (or equivalent) experience from outside the agency.  Rehab Tech 3 – Bachelors degree in mental health related area and at least 12 months experience as Rehab Tech 1 or 2 within the agency; OR, associate’s degree with at least 3 years full time direct care experience within the agency; OR, high school diploma with at least 48 months experience as Rehab Tech 1 or 2 within the agency; OR, bachelors degree in mental health related area with 18 months of full time (or equivalent) from outside the agency; OR, associate’s degree in mental health related area with at least 30 months of full time experience from outside the agency.  Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system, psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery principles.  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.  Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and implement medication monitoring plans for their program participation.  Act 31/33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.  Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.  Additional program specific minimum qualifications may apply.
