Drug & Alcohol Therapist PT The Stairways Erie Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Clinic is currently seeking to fill a part time therapist position of approximately 25 hours per week. This position is responsible for conducting bio-psycho-social assessments to determine appropriate placement levels for outpatient dual diagnosis care. The therapist also facilitates individual and group therapy sessions to provide clients with opportunities to explore recovery issues and work toward mutually determined recovery goals. Minimum qualifcations: Masters level degree in related field or equivalent education and experience as determined by agency standards and guidelines of position; licensure and/or D&A certification (CAC or CAC Diplomat) preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a team. Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system, drug and alcohol system and recovery principles. Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness and develop comprehensive rehabilitation / treatment / recovery plans for their program participation. Act 33/34, FBI Criminal clearances and MVR check required, along with a valid driver’s license.Certified Peer Specialists - Independent Living Services (ILS) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program (TWO VACANCIES) This position is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals receiving mental health services. Responsibilities include: providing orientation to clients in programs and/or services that might be unfamiliar to them, both individually and in groups; assisting individuals in identifying recovery goals; assisting individuals in selecting services and/or program offerings that will be useful in achieving their recovery goals; offering support and mentoring as needed in the implementation of the recovery plan; and, exploring, securing and utilizing each client’s support network and/or community resources. Minimum qualifications: Must be a former or current mental health consumer, 18 years of age or older. Must possess certification as a Peer Specialist and have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Demonstrated proficiency in reading and writing. One year paid or volunteer experience within the past two (2) years. Commitment to consumer choice and empowerment. Ability to explain expertise in recovery. Good interpersonal skills so as to effectively relate to peers and supervisors. Must have working knowledge of the mental health and drug and alcohol systems. Must be free of illicit drug use and maintain and promote a clean, sober lifestyle. Must complete all agency pre-hire requirements. Must attend and successfully pass all mandatory trainings. Act 33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check. Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours. Position is responsible for providing client care; conducting physical exams and assessments; conducting mental health status exams; assisting with medication and med education; providing case consultation; guiding clients in the recovery process; and physician collaboration. Current licensure as a CRNP in the State of Pennsylvania; experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and/or forensic issues preferred. Act 33/34 clearances, FBI criminal background check and valid driver’s license are required. This position offers relocation expenses, continuing education expenses, a competitive wage along with an exceptional benefits package and favorable work schedule. SMART /Outpatient Therapist Provide one-to-one mental health intervention services on a part-time basis to adolescents in the home, school, and community in Erie and Corry areas. The therapist will help with the transition to Outpatient services and continue as their therapist after this transition. The therapist shall demonstrate a working knowledge of the Child and Adolescent Services System Program (CASSP) principles. CASSP principles are as follows: child-centered; family-focused; community-based; multi-system; culturally competent; and least restrictive / least intrusive. Pay rate is $25 per hour. (SMART therapists are deemed casual labor and do not include fringe benefits.) Required: Masters level degree in a mental health field and at least 1 year of experience in a CASSP-related service system (employed by or under contract to Children and Youth Services, Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, Special Education or Drug and Alcohol working with children), or employed by a licensed mental health services agency or subcontracted agency; with considerable knowledge of childhood development and disorders, excellent writing and verbal skills, computer literacy, and effective time management skills. Act 33/34, FBI Criminal clearances and MVR check required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. |
